Alaskan Malamutes make wonderful pets. Like with
any dog, they are a long term responsibility and if you choose to purchase a new puppy, please commit to it.
All puppies are irresistable. Until the long lonely cry starts at 3am and they
need to be house broken. That can take a long time and a lot of patients. About the time you think your new puppy is doing
good, they will find the newest shoe in the house and insist on killing it. This stage will also test your patients.
The first time you attempt the leash, you'd think they are going to be strangled to death.
Ok, so you make it past all of that and then comes the other stage. You spoiled
that cute irresistable puppy and now he's about 50 pounds and thinks "HE" is boss and your job is to keep the food bowl
full and pamper him. He doesn't take no for an answer. He starts to challenge you even more for that desired
title called "BOSS". This is where you really need to be tough because before you know it, that 50 pound
fur ball is going to be twice that size.
I think this is when a lot of people give up and that cute irresistable puppy
ends up at the animal shelter. If you chose to buy a puppy, please commit to getting through this stage. The rewards
are worth it.
Once that puppy grows and matures past the tough times, they become wonderful
loving companions. If you earn the love of your dog, it is like no other. They truely know the meaning of unconditional
love.
So please think first before purchasing a new puppy.
We will always take back any of our dogs at any age for any reason their owner is no longer able to keep or care for them.
