This is Dakota Moon. His owners' Cheri and Russ sent this to me.
Thursday morning, my son had gotten a new combination tetnus shot called Adacel on Weds. afternoon. I had
not been crating the pups at night for 2-3 weeks, Dakota would sleep in the living room and had been sleeping in the den so
I could put the pups out and not have to climb stairs as I have had knee surgery. Anyway, for some reason I had crated the
pups that night so they were in with me, I had put them out about 1 am and about a half hour later Dakota began to whine.
Without looking I just said Dakota go to sleep it's not time to get up. He continued to persistantly whine getting louder
all the time. I finally sat up to see what was wrong with Dakota to find my son sitting on the floor barely breathing(a side
effect from the shot). He couldn't catch his breath long enough to wake me. The Dr. said had the dog not wakened me that I
would have found my son on the floor probably dead from a severe allergic reaction to the vaccine he had gotten the day before.
My son is doing much better today though it was very scary. As soon as he is feeling better Dakota Moon gets a shopping spree
at Petsmart for being my hero and probably saving my son's life. Did I mention how much I love that Dog?? Just had to share
what an amazing boy he has become.
